Our Special Veterinary Services
Regular dental checks are important for the prevention and treatment of dental disease and oral health issues for both dogs and cats. Dr. Rob and our experienced team of vets provide free dental checks to ensure your much-loved family member has a happy and healthy grin.
New puppy? We'd love to meet your new bundle of joy! Dogs can be a lot of work and healthy behaviours are best established early. We provide a free thorough 'puppy parenting' consultation where we go through everything you need to know to ensure you're providing the best care for your new family member. This includes a full health check. (Require vaccinations? ask for a quote when making your booking)
Going away? We love having visitors! Our cat hotel holds up to 18 residents 365 days of the year. Our nurses feed, clean and interact with your fur babies regularly. You can bring in their favourite food, bed and toys or we can provide it for you. We also cater to any special dietary or medicinal needs. It's best to book well in advance for school holidays as spaces fill quickly!
If you are looking for a new fur baby, don't shop, adopt! There are too many kittens and not enough homes. Ivanhoe East Vet has close relationships with over ten kitten rescue groups in Melbourne. We take on these orphan kittens to help with the rehoming process. You can often see these sweet little fur babies playing on the kitten tower in our front window. The adoption fee covers desexing, microchipping, vaccination and heart and worm treatment all done at cost price. #adoptdontshop
Because our companions can get into serious trouble any time of the day or night we provide an after-hours 'on-call' emergency service. Simply call our usual number on 9497 3003 and you will be diverted to our vet. There is no cost for this call, however, there is an additional fee if a vet comes out to meet you at our clinic.
Dr. Robert Gropel MVSc is one of few suburban vets that can provide advanced surgeries, such as cruciate repair, major abdominal surgeries and cancer treatment.
