Pre-surgery Information for Owners
Is your pet booked in for a procedure?
They are in good hands so don't worry.
There are four things you need to do for your pet prior to bringing them in on the day of their procedure:
- Give them a normal dinner the night before the procedure. No food after midnight.
- Make sure water is always available.
- Drop them off between 8.00am and 11am on the day of their procedure.
- Consider whether you would like your pet to have a blood test prior to the anaesthetic. This will check how well the anaesthetic processing organs are functioning to ensure a smooth recovery. The nursing staff will offer this on admission in the morning. It is recommended for all pets, especially if they are a "senior" or over 7 years of age.
